This is a good film for people, like myself, who like old time music. Even tho the film is centered on Scruggs much of the music is by other folks, such as Doc Watson,Joan Baez and the highlight musically is "On top of Old Smoky" sung by one of the Morris brothers....the guys who wrote "Salty Dog".The only downside of this film is the last part that deals with Scruggs and his awful foray into synthesized pop music using his banjo and the musical delvings of his marginally talented sons. However the great performances by many people in this film is what it is really about and on that it delivers. This isnt the best film that could be done about Scruggs and his music but its still worth a watch.
