Detailed Description
THE CHICAGO TAPES - FIRST SET
CD

On several occasions Glenn Yarbrough re-united with his Limeliter compatriots, Lou Gottlieb and Alex Hassilev, and toured with a combined show, part being Glenn solo and part being Glenn with the Limeliters. In August of 1976, one of those reunion tours brought them to Chicago where their sets were recorded. Glenn recently discovered those recordings, long since forgotten, in a storage vault but didn't know the quality of the original recordings nor what 24 years in storage may have done to them. By and large the tapes were in remarkably good shape. Unfortunately there is some background noise and an annoying echo from a remote speaker than can be heard during some of the talking and on some of the softer (quieter) singing passages that could not be removed from the tapes. There's also some vocal distortion on some of the louder passages, again about which nothing could be done. We agonized over whether or not to delete these parts from the tapes but decided that everything should be left - that there was minimal detraction from enjoyment of the performance, and that the performance was so dynamic that most fans would want it all and that it would be objectionable only to those for whom pristine sound quality is of utmost importance.

There were two, completely different sets, each being nearly an hour in length.
