Detailed Description
THE STEWART YEARS 10 CD BOXED SET
The title refers to the six years of the act's existence during which John Stewart musically replaced Dave Guard in the Trio. During that six-year period the Trio recorded 8 LPs for Capitol, 4 LPs for Decca and a double-record set that was released on Tetragrammaton after the act broke up. In addition there were recordings of a number of songs released only as singles, alternate takes of some songs, totally unreleased songs and live concert recordings. Some of these were later released on full-length LP records and/or cassettes and/or CDs but until now they have never been available in one set. This boxed set rectifies that.
The set consists of 10 CDs including all 13 LP record albums,
- CLOSE-UP
- COLLEGE CONCERT
- SOMETHING SPECIAL
- NEW FRONTIER
- #16
- SUNNY SIDE
- TIME TO THINK
- BACK IN TOWN
- NICK*BOB*JOHN
- STAY AWHILE
- SOMETHIN' ELSE
- CHILDREN OF THE MORNING
- ONCE UPON A TIME
There are the non-orchestrated versions of the songs from SOMETHING SPECIAL, the live concert that became the EVENING WITH THE KINGSTON TRIO CD, all of the singles, and unreleased and alternate takes including a couple that were previously unknown.
As was the case the THE GUARD YEARS set, there is an extensive book written primarily by Bill Bush and Ben Blake who also authored the books for THE GUARD YEARS set, THE CAPITOL YEARS set, and THE DECCA YEARS set.
