Detailed Description
CHILD, CHILD CD
The "Child, Child" title is from a Darling & (Pat) Street song which is on the album. Darling feels that this recording is the most complete composition, as an integrated whole, that he ever recorded, not only because the title song represented his concern for what he believed to be "the most vital issue of our time - the thoughtful raising of children," but because he spent fourteen months arranging and writing songs for the project, discarding many completed tracks, until the right songs fell into place. "I wanted the album to create a healing experience if listened to as an entire work, in one sitting," said Darling. In addition to the self-penned and traditional folk songs, the record also includes new versions of Darling's major hit records, "Walk Right In" and the "Banana Boat Song."
