Chasin' Gus' Ghost is a documentary film on the history of jug band music. It traces the roots of American music beginning with Gus Cannon and Cannon's Jug Stompers, The Memphis Jug Band and the Dixieland Jug Blowers from the 1920s. The subject of this documentary is the large influence that Cannon had on last half-century of American popular music. This impact is shown through archival footage, live performances and interviews with famous fans like Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), Taj Mahal, David Grisman, Jim Kweskin, Geoff Muldaur and John Sebastian.
Chasin Gus Ghost won the award for Best Music Documentary at the 2009 Bare Bones Film Festival in Muskogee, OK!
