Eagerly anticipated by Kingston Trio and Dave Guard Fans, after almost two years of work, Pete Curry's book on Dave's banjo playing entitled "Pure Dave" is finally completed. Each of the 17 songs included in the 60-page book is discussed in detail (history, key, tuning, capo position, playing style, playing hints, etc.) The heart of the book is the TABs which took several hundred hours to prepare, check, and then check again. These were then professionally recreated using Pagemaker and checked against the recordings one last time. Words and chords for each song are also included. The sections in the book are: Introduction, Banjo Hawaiian Style: A Forward by Tom Guard, Dave's Early Style, Three-Finger Picking, and Frailing.
