LAST OF THE RED HOT BURRITOS DVD
For the first time on one CD, Raven offers two classic country rock/bluegrass albums by the legendary FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS. The Flying Burrito Bros album (1971) is acknowledged as a prime example of country rock, and most significantly this is the first time that the great lost Burritos live album Last of the Red Hot Burritos (1972) has been made available on CD. These albums are the last two that ex-Byrd and Burritos co-founder Chris Hillman produced with the band. The Burritos were among the originators of country rock and when Gram Parsons left in 1970, singer songwriter Rick Roberts joined. His contribution to The Flying Burrito Bros is immense, including such memorable performances as 'Colorado' and excellent covers of Merle Haggard's 'White Line Fever' and Dylan's 'To Ramona'. For Last of the Red Hot Burritos the band added a significant bluegrass component as displayed on blazing versions of 'Orange Blossom Special' and 'Dixie Breakdown'. In addition there are four Parsons-era classics ('Devil in Disguise', 'My Uncle', 'High Fashion Queen', 'Hot Burrito #2') and rocked up country and soul covers ('Six Days on the Road', 'Don't Fight It', 'Losing Game') which only add to the album's appeal. This top value 2-for-1 CD includes two rare Bonus Tracks: 'Here Tonight' with ex-Byrd Gene Clark plus the original 45- RPM version of 'Tried so Hard', also featuring Clark, which has likewise never been issued on CD before. Features color booklet, informative liner notes and superb quality audio.
