This 2-CD, 27 track pristine live recording from the Avalon Ballroom was discovered in the Grateful Dead vaults and has never before been made available to the public.
Gram Parsons and The Flying Burrito Brothers opened for the Grateful Dead on April 4th, 5th, and 6th of 1969 at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco.
Rarities on Gram Parsons Archive Volume 1; The Flying Burrito Brothers Live at The Avalon Ballroom 1969 include Gram's unique choice of mainly country standards, which are not on any other official Gram Parsons recording. Fans of Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers will for the first time be able to hear them cover Hank Cochran's "Undo the Right" and Autry Inman's "She Once Lived Here".
